Discover the earth's wildlife through interactive and educational experiences. From the smallest amphibians to the largest of mammals, the Jacksonville Zoo features a variety of animals from every corner of the world. Visit the habitats of the African Bullfrog, the Goliath Heron, the Naked Mole Rat or the Giant Centipede as well as the Pancake Tortoise, Nile Crocodile and the African Elephant. All these and more are sure to fill your day with wonder and surprise.
The Botanical Gardens offers three major garden zones which, unlike other zoos, are separate from the animal environments. Visitors will begin the garden journey along the Garden Path, drawing them through drifts of colorful blooms and contrasting foliage and textures. Throughout the garden you will find Themed Pocket Gardens, about one-half acre in size, featuring distinct and unique horticultural displays. The Primary Gardens share a unique relationship with the Trout River by displaying native water-edge plants and panoramic views over the River. This garden covers approximately 12 acres.
The zoo features many special events and functions throughout the year. For complete visitor information visit the Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens official website.
